Big-Y Cares Program

Go to any Big-Y grocery store in Connecticut or Massachusetts and purchase one or more Big-Y Cares shopping bag. These bags are quite large and very strong.

They can easily handle lots of your groceries.

Register your bag on line (see details on the card) and select Kitty Quarters as your designated charity. Big-Y will donate $1.00 to us for each bag registered. Please spread the word to your friends and family so they can help too.

You can find a list of Big-Y stores here:

Every little bit helps!  Right now we need to replace our roof so your donation will help us keep the rain out and the kitties warm and dry.

About Us

Kitty Quarters is an all volunteer, all-cat rescue, adoption, and education center located in Torrington, Connecticut. It is a non-profit (501(c)3, recognized by the State of Connecticut.

It is our mission to pair cats with people, to benefit both.

It is a place where people, and cats can benefit from our unique approach to rescue and adoption.

  • Volunteers of all ages come together to help the community and get inner satisfaction for saving lives.

  • Grantors see where their money is going.

  • Cats are prepared for joining a loving family, in a place where they can be themselves, socialize with people, and each other, exercise, & explore their potential.

  • Kittens get a chance to learn and develop so they become healthy, strong, loving, adult cats.

It's Puuurfect!
