Kitty Quarters Needs Volunteers
Are you looking for a place to meet new people and interact with kitties? Kitty Quarters in Torrington is looking for volunteers of all ages to join our fabulous team. The start date is ASAP!!
Daily duties include feeding, cleaning cages and litter boxes, sweeping the floor, washing, and folding laundry. Everyone who volunteers here must do all of these tasks at one time or another. You will be properly trained by management so you won’t feel overwhelmed. At times you may be asked to administer meds. We will teach you how to do this as well.
Our hours are 10am to noon, and 5pm to 7pm. Seven days a week, 365 days a year. You may volunteer one or more days per week. It’s up to you! Our need for help may vary according to how many kitties are in the shelter and the number of volunteers on a given day.
Once all of the daily chores are done, it’s a fun time with the kitties! We socialize, play, and snuggle with them. Some kitties arrive shy and scared, so we give them space until they feel more comfortable.
Volunteers are not paid with money, but rather with the priceless knowledge that you are truly making a difference to all of the kitties in our care. You will also learn about the importance of spaying and neutering, as well as all required vaccinations.
Volunteers must be dependable and understand that management relies on you to be consistent and show up for your shift.
